Future technologies: global development of virtual voice assistants

Technologies of communication services are rapidly developing and, perhaps, in a couple of years, all the services we are familiar with will be automated. We are already used to making orders over the Internet, communicating with bots. Voice assistants help you decide on the choice of services or inform you about various changes. What does the future hold for us?

Speech technologies today

Today, virtual voice bots are particularly popular in the customer support segment. Most large companies use communication services to improve the quality of customer service and collect comments, reviews, statistics on frequently asked questions, etc. Even small companies have started using virtual voice robots and chatbots, because it is really convenient. New technologies allow you to automate simple tasks, giving people the opportunity to deal with more complex issues.

Speech technologies are of great interest not only for businesses, but also for ordinary users: there is an increasing variety of voice assistants on the market. Some of them are equipped with artificial intelligence (AI), which allows you to recognize and synthesize speech, understand spoken phrases and remember user preferences. Voice technologies are gradually entering our lives and making it easier and more mobile.

What changes do experts predict?

The research company Juniper Research predicts that by 2023, there will be 2-3 voice assistants per person, and their number will exceed eight billion worldwide. A similar scenario is expected by the analytical agency Research And Markets, which is convinced that the world market for virtual assistants will grow almost four times in the next three years and reach the border of nine billion. According to Business Data Platform Statista, voice assistants are expected to grow by almost 60% by 2023 compared to 2019.

The market for virtual assistants is just emerging. Following the trends and relying on the forecasts of the largest companies and analysts, we at HTSS are absolutely sure that their number will grow. And more and more technologies will appear based on artificial intelligence.

The future is for AI

Speech technologies with AI will be most popular. Users are more demanding of virtual assistants and constantly expect them to be proactive. Therefore, many companies are already thinking about using AI and replacing simple chatbots with more intelligent analogues.

AI is not a human, it can't empathize and react so emotionally. But technology has moved far ahead, and robots learn very quickly. We see it in the example of our robot - Smart voice operator. When we first started training the robot, it could give very monosyllabic answers, sometimes it could not respond to the answer or question of the interlocutor. But now everything has changed dramatically – the robot learns quickly and can go beyond the proposed response script if the interlocutor does not follow a pre-planned conversation scenario. The robot synthesizes human speech so well that in 90% of cases the interlocutor does not understand that he is talking to virtual voice operator.

We are confident that in the future, bots will be able to more accurately distinguish between a person's emotions and adjust the algorithm to their mood. And perhaps we will not only hear the bot, but also receive an image of the interlocutor in the form of a hologram or an image on the screen of our gadgets.
